On November 16, 2017, the UP Group (Under Forty Professionals) and the CPE + Learning Committee produced a career development program, with speakers discussing topics drawn from the experience of CPAs in Fort Worth.

About 100 CPAs, comprising over 15% of the Chapter's members under 40, attended. The event was held in the auditorium of the Amon Carter Museum of American Art.

Amy Ott, The Blum Firm, was MC of the event; Sara Metzinger, Capital One Bank, represented the bank as sponsor.

group, Auldridge Griffin PC, moderated a panel discussion: Metamorphosis from Technician to Manager, with Andy Hall, Double Eagle Energy; Amanda Lockhart, Crowe Horwath LLP; and Norm Robbins, Mark M. Jones & Associates P.C.

Mark Rich, Kimbell Art Foundation, discussed routes to success in a presentation, Specialist or Generalist? Profiles in Success.

Jacob Briggs moderated a discussion: The Public Accounting/Industry Switch, Going and Coming Back, with Jon Gee, Dixon Hughes Goodman LLP; Tatiana Markov, Recruiting Edge LLC; and Chris White, Sproles Woodard LLP.

Joseph Rugger, AICPA EDGE speaker and corporate CFO, presented Ready Set Fail--Leadership Lessons in Failure. 

Following the presentations, participants adjourned to a networking mixer and tours of an exhibit on view at the Carter, "Wild Spaces: Hunting and Fishing in American Art."
