Dixon Hughes Goodman, Weaver Take Top Softball Trophies

The fourteenth annual Fort Worth CPA softball tournament through Randol Mill Park, in Arlington, on Saturday, October 21. Under skies that threatened rain but never opened, 20 teams, with 270 players, faced off. Aaron Grisz, with Scott Walker, Weaver, chaired, and Rachel Baker, BDO, was tournament director and rules arbiter. 

In the competitive division, the Dixon Hughes Goodman team (left) beat veterans from Range Resources 9 to 8 in a hotly-contested final. Matt Creech led the Dixon Hughsies; Rusty Moore led the Petroleum Wildcatters. 

In the recreational division, Weaver's Fort Worth office beat a tenacious band from Clifton Larson Allen, 14-13,  in another tight game. The Weaver team, Tidwell, was led by Jason Massey; Kim Middleton led the CLA team, Let's Get Fiscal. The CLA team, with two talented under-10 cheerleaders, won the fan spirit trophy.

Fort Worth CPAs' Jennifer Davis organized and produced the tournament. Robert Half International sponsored.
