Leadership Development

Fort Worth Chapter's Leadership Development program is an intensive retreat with follow on opportunities for leadership discovery:

  • Advance participants' leadership skills
  • Create an understanding of how the accounting profession is organized and led
  • Create networking connections within the group.

Application (download, complete and return). Due date: June 17, 2017. No more than 15 applicants will be selected. Receipt of your application will be confirmed by email.

Elements of the program:
  • A networking mixer with Leadership Development graduates--Fort Worth CPAs who've completed the program (there are about 150 in the region)
  • A two day intensive retreat in Glen Rose, Texas, featuring a workshop on influencing without authority, with a nationally-recognized consulting team; a panel and one-on-one discussion with successful professionals on network building; and opportunities to expand public speaking and leadership skills.
  • Exposure to volunteer leaders of the profession and training in nonprofit governance by attending a meeting of the Fort Worth Chapter board or executive committee.

Fee: $500. Covers all expenses. 8 hours CPE credit awarded for completion of the retreat.

Leading the 2017 program are Amanda Lockhart, a graduate of the 2015 program and vice chair of the 2016 program; Reba Long, a graduate of the 2016 program; and Brandon Booker, 2017-2018 president elect of the Chapter.

In addition to class participation, program participants are asked to participate in the November, 2015, community service project to be planned by the Under Forty Professionals Group, and to attend a meeting of a governance body of the Chapter (board or executive committee) before December 31, 2016.
